Charging Smartphone in 30 Seconds

April 10th, 2014 by

An Israeli startup has released information on a new battery that the company has stated can charge a smartphone in 30 seconds. The company introduced a prototype system earlier this week. The system completely recharges a smartphone battery from 0-100 percent based on the use of bio-organic nanodots, which enable rapid charging. The current prototype is about the size of a laptop charger, but the company will reduce the size (to that of a more typical phone charger) before expected commercial availability in late 2016.
